Save the World Lose the Girl
The New Jersey pop-punk quartet Midtown ardently carries a brightly-lit rock torch and guides you through its wind tunnel of distorted power chords. Save The World, Lose The Girl, the group's debut full-length, is an unpretentious collection of emotionally-charged melodies fueled by tempestuous beats and dueling guitars. But Midtown isn't merely another emotionally numb, testosterone-laden rock band. Save The World... exhibits a sensitive side - beautiful vocal harmonies prevail, as do heartfelt lyrics along the lines of "When you woke up yesterday/There was nothing left for me to say to you/Because you wanted me to be true" ("Come On"). The members of Midtown seem true to themselves, and they've something to say, to boot.
